Why It Matters
Most gasoline sold in the US contains up to 10% ethanol (E10) — mandated by the Renewable Fuel Standard. While fine for most modern cars, ethanol causes real problems for small engines, classic vehicles, boats, and aircraft. E0 — pure gasoline with no ethanol — is the only choice for many applications.
Chainsaws, generators, lawnmowers, and outboard motors degrade rapidly with ethanol blends. E0 extends engine life and prevents fuel system corrosion.
Pre-2000 fuel systems often use rubber seals and carburetors incompatible with ethanol. E0 is the safe choice for vintage vehicles.
Ethanol absorbs water — a known problem in humid, marine environments. Boaters overwhelmingly prefer E0 for reliability on the water.
Ethanol contains less energy per gallon than pure gasoline. E0 delivers slightly better fuel economy in vehicles tuned to run on it.
High-performance and sports cars extract maximum power from pure gasoline. Without ethanol diluting the fuel, engines run at peak efficiency — delivering the performance they were engineered for.

Top Tier is a voluntary fuel standard championed by automakers including BMW, GM, Ford, Toyota, and more. Top Tier certified fuel contains enhanced detergent additives — beyond EPA minimums — that keep intake valves and fuel injectors cleaner, improving performance and reducing emissions over time.
ZeroEthanol tracks both E0 stations and Top Tier certified locations, so whether you need pure gasoline or just the cleanest conventional fuel around, you'll find it.
